Kim Mansion | 10:15 PM | Same Night

The Kim mansion was warm.
Soft lights, smell of jasmine tea, and the sound of quiet laughter.

Both families were sitting in the hall.
On the big L-shaped sofa - Namjin and Bogam-IU.
On the floor cushions - Suga with his laptop closed, scrolling through emails.

The main door opened with a click.

Vminkook came back giggling and gossiping together. Hair messy, cheeks pink, hands still linked.

Suga who was busy in his phone finally looked up then smiled. The moment he saw Jimin's flustered face and Tae hiding behind Kookie, he already knew what happened.

Jimin sat beside Suga immediately, trying to act normal.
Taekook sat together beside Jimin. Kookie's hand found Tae's under the table.

The room was full. Finally.

Suga leaned back and closed his laptop.

Suga-: ab toh yeh 3no bhi aagye hai.... Ab toh bta do... Achanak abhi raat mei hum sb yha kyu baithe hai....??

Namjin looked at each other. Then at Bogam and IU.
Four parents. One secret. One evil smile.

Jin cleared her throat. She looked straight at Yoonmin.

Jimin choked. Suga's eyebrows shot up.
Yoonmin nodded while blushing. Jimin hid her face in Suga's arm.

Jin wasn't done. She turned to Taekook.

Jin-: toh hmne decide kiya hai ki tum dono ke sath taekook ki bhi engagement kra denge....

The hall went dead silent.

Suga sat up straight.

Suga-: wait....?? What....??

Jin-: haa....

Suga looked at Tae, then at Kookie. Then back at Jin. Panic.

Suga-: pr dono abhi bchche hai....itni jldi inki shadi krane hi kyu hai....??

Jin waved her hand like it was nothing. Mafia queen logic activated.

Jin-: itne bhi chhotte nhi hai... Jimin aur tae same age ki hai.... Aur kookie bs 2 saal hi chhotta hai na.... Aur vaise bhi kaun sa shadi ke baad hum inn 3no ki pdhayi chhodwa denge.... Suga processed that. Then frowned.

Suga-: ek min.... Jimin kim mansion mei rhegi voh smjh aata hai.... Pr kookie kyu aakr rhega....??

Jin smiled. This was the part she was waiting for.

Jin-: kyuki tae iss ghr ki chhotti beti hai.... Aur yeh matrilineal society hai.... Aur yha chhotti beti ka husband ghr jamai bnkr apne sasural mei rhta hai....

Suga blinked. Then nodded slowly.

Suga-: ohh.... Acha...

Jin clapped her hands. Business done.

Jin-: then its decided.... Kl Tum 4ro saath mei engagement ke dresses and shopping pr chle jana...

All 4 looked at each other.
Tae and Kookie: eyes shining.
Jimin and Suga: still processing.
But all 4 nodded happily.

The tension broke. Bogam and IU started laughing. Namjoon poured more tea.

It was late. Everyone was tired.
Namjin looked at Jeon family.

Namjin told Jeon family to stay tonight in kim mansion.
IU and Bogam agreed with smiles.

Then they went to their respective rooms and slept.

11:00 PM | Guest Room Hallway

Jimin and Suga were walking to the guest room. Tae and Kookie were walking to Tae's room.

Before separating, Kookie squeezed Tae's hand. Jimin saw it. Suga saw it.
No one said anything.

Just four people who were about to be engaged. Two couples. One secret. One family.
