Exam days

7th march,2019.....

The Namjin mansion, usually a place filled with loud laughter, music, and Jin’s constant nagging to eat more food, had suddenly transformed into something else entirely.

A war zone.

A war zone where the enemy was not human—but final exams.

Books lay open everywhere. Highlighters were scattered on couches. Notes covered dining tables. Pens went missing and reappeared at the most unexpected places. Nobody dared to breathe too loudly.

Even Nam, the most powerful businessman in the city, had learned not to disturb his kids during these sacred weeks.

This year was especially hectic because all five kids had exams at the same time.

Suga & Jimin – PG Final Semester

Tae – UG Final Semester

Hobi – Class 11 Final Exam

Kookie – Class 9 Final Exam

And the pressure? Sky high.

Jin had declared the mansion an admit-card protected battlefield.

Any disturbance,” she warned, “and I’ll personally give you extra homework.”

Everyone believed her.

It was 6:30 AM when the house began to wake up, groaning like an overworked engine.

Tae was the first one awake—surprisingly.

He stumbled out of his room, hair a complete mess, glasses sliding down his nose, whispering:

Coffee… mujhe coffee chahiye…”

He walked into the kitchen and found suga already there, silently sipping black coffee like he was in a noir movie.

You’re awake?” Tae blinked.

Suga didn’t look up.
Exam hai.”

Fair enough.....

Jimin entered next, dragging her blanket.

“Tae… wake me when breakfast is ready…”

Tae raised a brow.

“bhabhi… it’s literally morning. Aap uth hi chuki hai.”

Jimin blinked like a confused puppy.
“Main exam ke stress mein subconsciously aa gayi shayad…”

Then she plopped onto a chair.

Hobi came running in next, books flying from his hands.

Bhaiya!!! I LOST MY MATHS FORMULAS NOTEBOOK!!! MAIN TOH GAYA—”

Suga shut him down with one glare.

“Chup. First coffee.”

Hobi sat down immediately.

Finally, Kookie entered—small, sleepy, hair in two messy buns, holding her science textbook upside down.

Tete…” she mumbled. “I can’t find my biology notes.”

Tae instinctively pulled her into a hug.

“Baby, they’re in your hand.”

She looked down, gasped dramatically, and said:

Oh..... haa....”

Everyone exhaled.

Yup. Exams had truly begun.

Tae prepared for his own exam first.

He sat in the living room with his laptop open, textbooks around him, highlighters everywhere—looking like a professor who had lost all hope.

But even while studying, his eyes constantly drifted toward Kookie, who was scribbling something on her notebook.

Bunny, sweetheart,” he said gently, “yeh answer biology ka nahi, maths ka hai.”

She looked at her notebook like she had just discovered a new galaxy.

“Aayein....Oh..... Haa....”

Tae laughed softly.

He shifted next to her, pulled her textbook closer, and said:

Chalo, main padhata hoon.... Nhi toh pta chla tum bio ke exam mei maths ke answers likh kr aagyi.....”

Jimin giggled from her corner.
“Aww, Tete is in tutor-mode again.”

Suga muttered,
“Acha hi hai. At least she won’t set the house on fire by accident.”

“BHAIYA!!” Kookie shouted cutely.

He shrugged.
Facts.”

Tae opened Kookie’s biology chapter on reproduction and immediately froze.

"NOPE. NOT TODAY."

He flipped the page faster than wind.

“We’ll do plants. Plants are safe. Cute plants.”

Jin made the rules for the exam week:

Everyone studies in the living room together

No phones

Unlimited snacks

Breaks every 2 hours

No crying (Hobi broke this rule instantly)

Nam sat reading his newspaper, pretending to be relaxed, but secretly watching all his babies like a hawk.

Every 30 minutes he asked:

“Kya sabko pani chahiye?”

“Kya sabko break chahiye?”

“Kya sabko therapy chahiye?”

Suga answered,
Sabko marks chahiye, Dad.”

Nam nodded.
“Valid point.”

Tae finished his own chapters quickly. He was good at studying, but he was even better at teaching.

He sat cross-legged on the carpet while Kookie sat in front of him, swinging her legs like a toddler.

He held her chin gently, turning her face toward the book.

“Baby bunny… concentrate.”

“I am concentrating!” she protested.

Kispe?”

“aape....”

Tae sighed dramatically.
“She’s not wrong,” Hobi commented.

Tae tapped her forehead.
Chapter..... Now.....”

Kookie huffed but opened her book properly.

He patiently explained concepts, drew diagrams, tested her with questions, and even made her laugh in between.

“Tete… yeh wala chapter tough hai…”

“Main hoon na,” he whispered softly.

Suga gagged from behind a book.
“Stop being filmy during exams.”

Tae threw a cushion at him.

Around 10 PM, Hobi started crying.

“WHY IS ORGANIC CHEMISTRY SO CRUEL?! MAINE KYA BIGADA HAI ISKA?!”

Jin pat his back.
“Hobi, sweetheart, padho. Roo mat......”

Maine aaplogo ke kehne pr 11th-12th mei science leliya.... Ab science mera lerha hai.... Mom mujhe nhi pdhna.... said Dramatically.....

"Aye..... Rona hai toh ghr ke bahar jaakr ro.... Yha hmei pdhne do....." Suga growled

"Exactly..... Jb mai bolta hoo daily pdhne keliye tb kya bolta hai.... Bhaiya I'm legend aur legends log daily nhi exam ke 1 raat pehle pdhte.... You know 1night fight.... Ab kr fight.... Baith kr ro rha hai....." Tae taunted while imitating him

"Aish.... Lado mt.... Pdho sb shanti se...." Jin said

Jimin was solving her own practice papers while suga checked them.

Tae was still teaching Kookie.

“Baby, do this sum—”

“Tete…”

“Hmm?”

“I want snacks.”

Tae stared at her for a full five seconds.

You last ate seven minutes ago.”

Kookie nodded seriously.

“Yes. Pr Ab phir se bhook lag gyii.”

Tae got up immediately.

“Coming, princess.”

Jimin shouted,
“Tae! Bring chocolate for me too!”

Suga shouted,
“No! She has two exams tomorrow! NO SUGAR FOR JIMIN!”

Suga you’re not my dad!!!”

“I know. Thankfully.”

Nam massaged his forehead.
He loved his children.
But sometimes, he wished he had soundproof rooms.

Day 2.....

The next morning, the living room was more chaotic.

Hobi was practicing maths formulas like a rapper.

“Kinetic energy half mv square—half mv square—half mv—”

Jimin was curled up on the couch, whispering psychology theories.

Suga was solving three sample papers at once.

Tae was teaching Kookie about the French Revolution.

And Kookie… looked traumatized.

“Tete… so many dates… so many names… mujhe sab yaad nahi rahega… aisa lgrha sb khichdi bngya hai..... Im too confused....”

Tae kissed her lips gently.

“I’ll help you. Step by step. Okay?”

She nodded like a baby chick.

Jin watched them with a warm smile.

“That boy loves her too much,” she whispered to Nam.

Namjoon smiled back.
“Main bas itna chahta hoon ki sab exams ache se de de.”

“Woh de denge.... They're class toppers,” Jin reassured him.

Suga and Jimin were the most serious about exams.

Jimin sat beside her husband, whispering,
“suga… I think I’ll fail…”

He looked at her with soft eyes.
“Baby. You say that every exam. And every exam, you get top marks. Ab chup chap se padh.”

She pouted but nodded.

Suga squeezed her hand silently.

Kookie, watching them, whispered to Tae,
“Tete… mujhe bhi aise motivate karo.”

Tae smiled and lightly squeezed her cheeks.

You are my topper bunny. Always.”

Kookie melted like chocolate.

By the third night, everyone was exhausted.

Nam declared,
Lights out. All of you sleep by 11.”

But nobody slept at 11.

Hobi snuck into Tae’s room.

bhaiya… can you please explain this formula?”

Before Tae could answer, Kookie entered with her notebook.

“Tete… I also want help…”

Suga entered next.
“Someone took my notes. I know it’s one of you.”

Jimin walked in too.
suga… I need your laptop…”

Nam opened the door last.
“What is happening here?”

Tae, buried under books and people, answered weakly:

Exams, Dad. Exams.”

Exams begin.....{yoonmin exam day}.....

The house was quiet that morning.

Jin kissed their foreheads and hugged them tight.

“Fighting! Mumma loves you all!All the Best bachcho.....”

Kookie held Jimin’s hand.
“didi… best of luck…”

Tae fist-bumped suga.
“You got this, bhai.”

Suga smirked.
“I was born ready.”

Day2-: {All 5 children's exam}.....

This was the worst day for Namjin.

Five children.
Three different exam centers.
One car.

Endless chaos.

Kookie was nervous and fidgeting.

“Tete… what if I forget everything…”

Tae held her cheeks gently.

“You won’t. You studied so hard. And I’m proud of you.”

Kookie breathed normally again.

Hobi, sitting in the backseat, shouted:

“MOM I FORGOT MY ADMIT CARD!!!”

Everyone panicked.

Namjoon drove back at lightning speed.

Jin yelled,
HOBI!!! HOW CAN YOU—”

Hobi sobbed,
“Mom I’m sorryyyyy—”

Kookie patted his back.
“It’s okay bhai… happens…”

Tae shook his head.
I swear… this family…”

Suga whispered to Jimin,
“Every year. Every. Single. Year.”

When the final exam ended for all of them, the family group chat exploded.

Hobi: MERA EXAM KHATAM!!!!
Kookie: MINE TOO!!
Tae: SAMEEEE!!!
Jimin: LET’S CELEBRATEEE
Suga: I am sleeping for 3 days. Don’t wake me up please.....

They returned home together, exhausted but proud.

Kookie ran straight into Tae’s arms.

“Tete!!! Finally!!!”

He lifted her lightly and spun her around.

“Finally indeed, bunny!”

Suga dropped on the couch like a corpse.
“Wake me at Christmas.”

Jimin lay beside him.
“Wake me at New Year.”

Hobi whined.
“Wake me when dinner is ready.”

Nam laughed.
I’ll wake all of you when I feel like it.”

Jin hugged all five of them tightly.

“My babies worked so hard…”

Tae hugged her too.
“We survived, Mom.”

Barely,” suga added.

Kookie climbed onto Tae’s lap, snuggling into him happily.

“Tete… now you’ll play with me na? No studying?”

He kissed her both cheeks.

“Whole day. Whole week. Whole month, if you want.”

She beamed like sunlight.

Jin cooked a feast.

Nam brought cake.

They all gathered around the dining table, laughing, teasing, eating, finally free from exam stress.

Kookie fed Tae a spoonful of cake.

Open, Tete!”

He leaned forward obediently.

Good girl,” he smiled.

Jimin fed suga, who pretended to complain but secretly liked it.

Hobi hugged Jin tightly.
“Mummaaa I’m so glad it’s over…”

She kissed his forehead.
“Same, baby.”

Nam raised his glass of juice.

“To my hardworking children. All of you made us proud.”

They cheered loudly.

For the first time in weeks, there were no books lying around.

No crying.

No frantic shouting.

No last-minute notes.

Just laughter.

Just love.

Just family.

Kookie sat on the sofa, leaning on Tae, eyes sleepy.

“Tete… now that exams are over… can we watch cartoons together?”

He smiled fondly.

“Of course.”

“And play board games?”

“Yup.”

“And go on a walk?”

“Anytime.”

“And hold hands?”

He gently squeezed her hand.

Always.”

Suga shouted from the kitchen:

“NO PDA AFTER EXAMS TOO!!!”

Everyone burst into laughter.
