The morning sun crept slowly across the huge glass windows of the Kim residence, a house that looked less like a home and more like a place where happiness had been packaged, wrapped in ribbons, and left out on the porch for everyone to take.
Inside, however, things were anything but calm.
Jin had barely stepped into the living room when she saw it—her children in the middle of what looked like a tornado made of clothes, hairbrushes, and half-packed bags.
“Yah! Tum log subah subah hi fashion show laga rahe ho kya?” she said, hands on her hips.
Hobi peeked up from behind a pile of hoodies.
“A—annyeong mamaaa… I was just… packing… pata nahi kya, but packing.”
Kookie giggled from the couch where she sat cross-legged, hugging her bunny plush.
“Mama, Hobi bhaiya ne poora cupboard gira diye… woh bol rahe hai ki ‘shaadi shopping ke liye inspiration khoj rhe hai.’”
“Arre wah, sixteen years old and already fashion designer banne ka shauk?” Suga muttered from the corner, not looking up from the protein bar he was chewing.
Jimin lightly nudged him, “suga, stop teasing. Let him enjoy.”
“Enjoy karta rahe. Bas main nahi uthaunga iska ganda samaan,.... Tune room ko ganda kiya hai tu hi saaf krna.... ” Suga shot back.
Tae, who entered last, stretched his arms above his head.
“Mumaaa, I’m ready.”
He wore a simple oversized tee, jeans, and a soft smile the world rarely saw—but the moment his eyes landed on little Kookie, they brightened another shade.
Kookie cutely blinked up at him. “Good morning, Tete.”
“Good morning, bunny,” he said, ruffling her hair lovingly.
Across the room, Jin observed them all—her wild, chaotic, unbelievably sweet family—and couldn’t help smiling.
“Everyone, jaldi se tayyar ho jao. Hum Taekook ke wedding shopping ke liye late ho rahe hain! And remember, yeh wedding secret hai. No posting. No mentioning. No hinting. Samjhe?”
A wave of chorused affirmations echoed through the living room.
From the hallway, Nam called out, tie half-done, deadline looming in his voice,
“Jagiya, I’m leaving for the venue meetings. Decorations, catering, guest list… sab handle kar lunga. Tum array of cuties ko lekar jao shopping.”
“Dont worry.... ,” Jin teased. " we'll be fine....& guess what today we'll enjoy alot... Right babies.....”
All 5 nodded their heads with smile.... As if something naughty [khuraafati]was going on in their heads....
Nam shook his head dramatically. “Your ‘fine’ ka matlab hota hai disaster level cute chaos.”
Suga raised a brow. “He’s right.”
Jimin smiled innocently. “ we'll behave papa.....”
Hobi nodded. “Promise!”
But the moment Nam stepped out, Jin felt the atmosphere shift—like the kids had collectively decided this was going to be one memorable day.
“Chalo,” she sighed. “Prarthna karti hoon ki aaj hum sab survive kar le.”
Few minutes later.....
The large family van hummed across the city roads, filled with the sound of chatter, teasing, and the excited giggles of their youngest.
Kookie sat in the middle seat between Tae and Jimin, clutching Tae’s arm.
“Tete, mujhe pink wala lehenga dekhna hai. Woh jisme glitter tha..... Remember ? Aap mujhe voh dilaoge na....??”
Tae nodded dutifully. “Haan bunny. Jo tum bolo. Pink, purple, sparkly, flowery—kuch bhi..... ”
Suga snorted from the front. “Tae, she’s 14, not 5.”
“ come on bhai.... Age kya dekhna,” Tae replied. “Meri bunny ko jo pasand ho, voh sb milega.”
"Ohh god.... This boy and his love for his bunny...." Suga snorted....
Jimin laughed. “Someone’s whipped. Bohot zyada.”
“Let him be,” Jin said from the driver’s seat. “Aaj Taekook ka din hai. Tae will pamper her like always.”
“Hobi,” Suga said suddenly, “why are you eating chips this early?”
“Stress,” Hobi said with full honesty. “Wedding shopping ka pressure hota hai.... Bhai....”
“Tu shaadi kar raha hai kya? Teri shadi thodi hai..... Jo itna tension lerha hai...” Suga deadpanned.
“No but… I’m the official family excitement provider. Mujhe energy chahiye hota hai.”
Jin rolled her eyes fondly. “Bas, no chip crumbs in my car!”
“Mumaaa… too late…” Kookie whispered.
“Hobi!” Jin groaned.
Tae patted her head. “It’s okay mumma. We’ll clean.”
“Tum log saaf karoge? Kbhi... really...??” Jin muttered.
“Promise!” the kids said in unison.
“That’s exactly why I don’t trust you,” she said.
The whole car burst into laughter.
Jin stopped the car infront of boutique...
The boutique they entered looked like a chandelier had exploded into fabric, glittering lights, and delicate mannequins wearing breathtaking dresses.
Kookie gasped.
“Mumaaa… it’s so pretty!”
Tae immediately bent to whisper,
“Jo tum chaho, bunny. Sab tumhara hai.”
Jin clapped her hands. “Kids, listen! Hum pehle Kookie ka wedding outfit finalize karenge. Then Tae ka. Then gifts, then accessories. Understood?”
“YES, MUMA!”
The group fanned out like a squad entering a mission.
Jimin picked up a soft pastel lehenga.
“Kookie, yeh wala try karo? Bohot elegant hai, perfect for a family-only wedding.”
Kookie ran her eyes over it. “Pretty… but… thoda simple.”
Hobi pulled a hot pink one from the rack. “Yeh wala mast hai! Sabki aankhein chamak jayegi!”
“ kya bhaiya.... Mujhe Barbie banana hai kya?” Kookie giggled.
Suga found a heavy maroon piece. “This looks expensive. Mumma will faint.”
Jin turned. “Suga! No heavy embroidery. She’s only fourteen. Light and cute chahiye.”
Tae stepped forward with a dress in muted lilac, soft shimmer, and delicate floral work.
“Bunny… try this?”
Kookie’s eyes widened.
“Tete… it’s so pretty...I love it....”
“Haan. Bilkul tumhari tarah,” he said softly while pulling her cheecks gently
Jimin clutched her chest dramatically. “Ayyyeee romantic nahi! Innocent compliments still chalega.”
Tae shrugged innocently. “I’m just saying she’s pretty.”
Kookie smiled shyly as Jin guided her to the fitting room.
“Chalo baby. Mumma will help you.”
The curtain drew back.
Kookie stepped out slowly, wearing the lilac lehenga that sparkled gently under the lights.
Her hair was open, soft curls bouncing at the ends. The lehenga hugged her gently like moonlight had draped itself around her.
The room fell silent.
Jimin had tears in her eyes. “my baby sister… Bilkul barbie doll lg rhi hai.”
Hobi’s jaw dropped. “Arey waah… our angel is here....!”
Suga smiled softly—rare but sincere. “Perfect.”
Tae stared like someone had stopped time.
“Bunny…” he whispered. “You look like… like a dream.”
Kookie blushed deeply.
“Tete…”
Jin wiped her eyes. “Meri beti… bilkul pari lg rhi hai.....”
She turned to the shop assistant.
“We’ll take this.”
The assistant beamed. “Madam, excellent choice!”
Jin dragged the kids to the men’s section while Kookie held Tae’s hand.
“Now Tae ke outfits!” Jin announced.
“Tete, royal blue pehen lo... Aap pr acha lgega...,” Kookie suggested.
Jimin laughed. “He’ll wear whatever you tell him.”
Suga crossed his arms. “Actually, true.”
Tae held up a cream sherwani. “Bunny? Yeh?”
Kookie tilted her head. “Cute… but not matching with mine.”
Hobi gasped. “OOO MAAA GOOO TURU LOB...."
Jin raised a brow. “Shhh Hobi.”
After trial after trial, Jimin finally pulled a lavender-tinted cream sherwani with silver work.
“Tae, try this. This might match her lilac.”
Tae slipped into the dressing room and came out a minute later.
Kookie’s eyes sparkled.
“Tete… you look handsome..... yahi lelo!”
Tae looked at her shyly. “Tumhare saath match ho raha hai?”
“Haan!” she chirped.
Jin smiled proudly. “Final. Yehi lenge.”
Suga smirked. “Couple goals in innocent version.”
Jimin nodded. “Shaadi aur bhi cute hogi.... Very cute.”
The jewelry shop was their next battlefield.
Kookie tried on tiny diamond stud earrings.
“Tete... See..., do I look okay?”
“You look perfect,” Tae replied without hesitation.
Jin shook her head with a soft laugh. “Stop spoiling her.”
“I can’t,” Taehyung confessed. “She’s my bunny.... And I love to pamper her.... ”
Suga picked up a necklace. “Mumma this is expensive.”
Jin, “Shaadi hai. Expensive toh hoga.”
Hobi found a tiara.
“Kookie yeh pehnkr princess lgegi...!”
“No tiara,” Jin said. “She’s not going to Disneyland.”
“But she’ll look cute!” Hobi insisted.
Kookie giggled. “Tiara nahi bhaiya… kuchh simple chahiye.”
Jimin placed a delicate floral hair clip in her hair.
“This is perfect. Innocent and sweet.”
Tae nodded happily.
For himself, he picked a simple silver brooch.
“Bunny ke saath match karega.”
“Obsessed husband,” Suga muttered.
“Proudly,” Tae replied.
The family entered a huge gift shop to pick small presents for the wedding rituals.
“Everyone pick one thoughtful gift,” Jin said.
Hobi picked a soft toy bunny.
“Kookie ke liye!”
Suga frowned. “Wedding gift soft toy Kaun deta hai?”
“She likes it!” Hobi protested.
Kookie hugged him. “I love it, bhaiya. Thank you.”
Suga, caught off-guard, smiled softly.
“Fine.... But main sensible gift dunga.”
He picked a diary.
“So she can write her school memories.”
Jimin picked matching bracelets.
“For me and Kookie. So she never feels alone.”
Kookie’s eyes welled. “Didi…”
Tae bought a purple music box.
“When you miss me during school hours, open it.”
Kookie blushed again. “Tete…”
Jin purchased a handcrafted family photo frame.
“For your room. We are always with you.... Forever.... Together.... Like a happy family....”
Kookie hugged her tightly.
They entered a restaurant and chaos followed immediately.
Hobi spilled water. Twice.
Suga nearly inhaled a chilli and glared at Jimin for laughing.
Jimin fed Kookie more than she fed herself.
Tae cut Kookie’s food into small bites.
“Tete, I’m not a baby.... Now I'm 14 year old big girl... !”
“I know. But I like taking care of you.”
Kookie leaned on his shoulder. “I like it too.”
Jin watched them all with a soft smile.
“Yeh family shopping nahi… Its like family fest.....”
Kookie tried bangles.
They jingled lightly, matching her innocent smile.
Tae chose matching ones for himself.
“Couple moment,” he whispered.
“Ayyyyeee,” Jimin teased.
Suga rolled his eyes. “You two are dramatic.”
Hobi grabbed some flower bracelets. “Everyone will wear these! Family theme!”
Jin actually liked the idea.
“Good choice.... Ek baar toh sensible decision liya tumne.”
“MUMMA!” Hobi gasped dramatically.
The shopkeepers were having the time of their lives watching this loving, chaotic family.
Within minutes on the road:
Hobi fell asleep with his mouth open.
Jimin fell asleep on Suga’s shoulder.
Suga grumbled but adjusted to give her more space.
Kookie leaned her head on Tae’s Lap.
“Tete… today was fun.”
“Anything for you, bunny.”
“Mumma worked so hard…”
“Because she loves you alot.”
“Tete… will the wedding be okay? It’s only family… no outsiders…”
Tae smiled gently.
“Wedding is about love, not crowd. Tum meri ho.... Mai tumhara hoo.... Family hamara hai. Aur yeh kaafi hai....”
Kookie nodded and drifted to sleep.
Jin glanced at the rear-view mirror, her heart warm seeing her children—five of them—resting peacefully after the long day.
“joonie, you were right,” she murmured.
“This is chaos… but the sweetest chaos.”
When they reached home, Nam was already in the living room surrounded by papers, venue blueprints, food tasting menus, and flower samples.
He looked up tiredly.
“Welcome back—OH my God… tum sabko dekh kr lag raha hai jaise kisi marathon mein bhaag kar aaye ho.”
Jin dumped the shopping bags. “We basically did.”
Jimin flopped onto the couch. “Papa… my legs are gone…”
Hobi, “I need rebirth…”
Suga, “No one talk to me.”
Tae, “Worth it.”
Kookie, “Mama bought me pretty bangles!”
Nam laughed.
“Itna saara shopping.... Yeh toh wedding se zyada exhausting lag raha hai.”
Jin leaned into his side.
“But everything is ready. Outfits, jewelry, gifts… everything.”
“And venue, decorations, catering… sab on track,” Namjoon said proudly. “Wedding secret rahega.”
Kookie whispered, “It feels like a dream…. I'm so excited....”
Taehyung ruffled her hair. “Not a dream. Its our reality.”
Nam clapped his hands.
“Everyone! Tomorrow is rest day. Shaadi is day after.”
“REST?!” all five yelled in joy.
Jin shook her head.
“Rest ka matlab poora ghar safai.”
“MUMMA NOOOO!” the kids wailed.
Nam roared with laughter.
Later that night, the house quietened.
Suga and Jimin were arranging the gifts.
Hobi was making handwritten mini signs for the decorations.
Tae was helping Kookie store her lehenga safely in its box.
Jin and Nam watched from the doorway, hearts full.
Jin whispered, “Look at them… humari chhoti si duniya.”
Nam wrapped his arm around her. “And tomorrow… we start a new chapter with Taekook.”
Jin sighed lovingly.
“Family-only wedding. Simple. Quiet. Full of love.”
“Just what our kookie need,” Nam said.
“And our Tae,” Jin added.
They smiled at each other, knowing that despite the chaos, teasing, and endless drama…
their family was perfect in its own wonderfully messy way.
